The Singleton Single Malt Scotch Whisky of Dufftown Spey Cascade (700ml)

Volume: 700ml          ABV: 40%          Age:  No Age Statement          Country: Scotland

The distillery was first opened as Dufftown-Glenlivet Distillery in 1895 and in 1933 was purchased by Arthur Bell and Sons Ltd. The spirit produced here became a major contributor to their popular blend of Bells Blended Malt Whisky and eventually were bought over by Guiness in 1997. They then merged with Grand Metropolitan to form Diageo. In 1974 the distillery increased its number of stills from two to four and then a short while later increased them to six. The Dufftown Distillery now has the capacity to make 27 million litres of whisky a year and sources its water from Jock’s Well in the Conval Hills.

The Singleton was originally established as a threesome of single malts. The Singleton of Glen Ord was produced as Diageo’s ‘green grassy’ malt which was reserved for Asia. The Singleton of Glendullan a fruity slightly grassy whisky for the US and Canada The Singleton of Dufftown a nutty, spicy which which was for the European market. Due to the demand for each item these whiskies are all available globally. A key driver in Diageo’s single malt portfolio The Singleton malts are well worth exploring. Matured in ex Bourbon casks and ex Sherry casks. Bottled at 40% abv.
