Redbreast is a brand of single pot still Irish Whiskey produced by Irish Distillers who also produce Jameson. It is the largest selling single pot still Irish Whiskey in the world. The maturation process consists of spirit being given time to mature in first fill European oak ex-Oloroso Sherry barrels and first fill American oak ex-bourbon barrels.

This single pot still whiskey is the oldest in the core release in the Redbreast Family. It has been triple distilled and matured in the finest ex-bourbon, ex-sherry and ex-ruby port casks for over 27 years. It was bottled at natural cask strength of 54.6% abv and it was rated 93.5 points in Jim Murray’s Whisky Bible 2021. It is simply stunning.

Our Tasting Notes

Nose: The aromas show plenty of ex-bourbon barrel influence with vanilla and tropical fruits, mainly mango and pineapple. Orange oil and toasted caramelised walnuts lead to sherry fruits of plums, figs and ripe apple.

Taste: Rich dark cherries, summer berries and tropical fruits. Toasted crushed nuts, peppermint and dark toffee combine with earthy oak and fresh citrus.

Finish: Long and sophisticated, fruity and complex. Nutmeg spice and garden herbs with some red chilli and plenty of fruit.
