Port Ellen is one of the three main villages on Islay and one of the two ferry terminals on the island. The distillery was founded in 1825 and expanded in the late 1960’s. In 1983 production ceased, however the malting’s are still currently operational.

Distilled on the 2nd of September 1982 and matured in a refill Sherry butt for 35 years, bottled on the 31st of July 2018. This whisky has taken on some wonderful flavours from the refill Sherry cask including raspberries, blackberries, loganberries and boysenberries. This combined with the delightful smokey, citrus character of Port Ellen spirits makes this whisky a match made in heaven.
