This distillery needs no introduction. Owned by the Edrington Group the distillery sits in Craigellachie in the heart of Speyside. It is the second or third highest selling single malt scotch whisky in the world behind Glenfiddich and Glenlivet. The distillery produces a number of expressions each year but non are as sought after as the rare cask.

The Harmony Collection Inspired by Intense Arabica is an exceptional single malt that celebrates the world of coffee and showcases a special harmony with the world of whisky. Created by The Macallan Whisky Maker Steven Bremner, this limited-release whisky offers a distinctive flavour reminiscent of a sweet yet strong espresso coffee and provides a delightful whisky and coffee pairing experience.

The Macallan Harmony Collection is an annual release series of single malt whiskies that shines a spotlight on The Macallan’s inherent curiosity and its innovative and creative mindset. This expression is entitled The Macallan Harmony Collection Smooth Arabica to highlight the whisky’s coffee bean inspiration, as well as its unique presentation box, which is made in part using coffee bean husks, a natural by-product in the coffee-making process which would have otherwise been discarded. The second edition in Macallan’s limited annual release series, this special single malt exudes flavours of ground coffee, hazelnut and vanilla, and provides a delightful whisky and coffee pairing experience. This unique single malt was inspired by the Ethiopian Arabica bean. Ethiopia is claimed to be the birthplace of coffee as the Arabica bean was the first species of coffee to be cultivated.

Our Tasting Notes

Nose: Dark cherry notes combine with ground coffee beans, raisins and toffee lead to hints of vanilla and some sweet oak aromas.

Palate: Espresso, raisins and black cherries, walnut whip and softly spiced oak.

Finish: Long with lingering coffee beans, creamy with vanilla and toffee.
