If you have been drawn from all the entries after 12 months you will be sent cask samples of whisky at 30ml each sample. You will taste and select a cask sample and The Whisky Company will bottle and import that entire cask then make it available to the Australian public. The bottle label will state the cask selected by ‘the winner name’ and you will receive a bottle of this whisky for free.

Madeira is a rich fortified wine made on the Portuguese Madeira Islands, where the wine is aged and  oxidized through heat. Kavalan’s tropical new make extracts the many rich fruit notes from the wine cask to create an irresistibly sweet yet delicate whisky. 

Our Tasting Notes

Nose: Stewed summer berries, freshly made waffles, sticky date pudding, strawberry ice cream and toasted almonds.

Palate: The fruitiness is intense, tropical fruits combine with summer berries, dark chocolate and orange citrus, creamy toffee and hints of baking spices.

Finish: Long and warming, creamy toffee, raisins and dates, plums and figs with some tobacco leaf and peppery spice.
