Description

Glenlivet 1976 Aged 45 Years Private Collection Single Malt Scotch Whisky – Gordon & MacPhail (700ml)

Volume: 700ml           ABV: 43.1%           Age: 45 Years Old           Country: Scotland

For more than a century, Gordon & MacPhail has been entrusted with new-make spirit from more than 100 Scottish distilleries to mature in their way, using casks made to their exacting specifications. The ‘Distillery Labels’ range is a celebration of these long standing and unique relationships. The history of this range heralds back to their very beginnings – to the days when distillery spirit was produced primarily to be used in blends. Because of the strong working relationships Gordon & MacPhail had with distillery owners, they would bottle and sell the spirit they created as single malt on the condition that they used their ‘house’ label with the caption “bottled by Gordon & MacPhail”.

In 2021 Gordon & MacPhail released the Generations 80 year old. It sold in Australia for a whopping $160,000. It is to this day the most highly collectable Glenlivet released by Gordon & MacPhail. Now we are blessed with a the bottling of the 1976 vintage which has been aged again in a refill sherry hogshead. This refill Sherry cask was filled on the 30th of January 1976 and lay in oak for 45 years before being bottled at natural cask strength of 43.1% ABV on the 15th of November 2021. Only 266 bottles were produced for worldwide consumption from cask number 21602601 . As are all of the Gordon & MacPhail Private Collection bottlings this whisky is presented in a beautiful ribbed decanter with fine oak presentation case and COA.
