The Distillers Art. The Spirit of Art is a celebration of Fine Art and Fine Single Malt Scotch Whisky. Each unique package features an original artwork with the commissioned artist being carefully chosen for reason of a strength or talent or connection that was considered having particular empathy with the place from which the selected cask originates. Every bottle, every painting, and every signed print are absolutely unique.

The Linkwood Distillery was established in 1821, but only started production in 1824. Owner Peter Brown was the manager of the Linkwood Estate and wisely kept his nose clean until the 1823 Excise Act was on the stature book. The distillery was rebuilt in 1874 and was run as an independent distillery up until 1932 where is joined DCL, now Diageo. It has remained in production ever since, with regular upgrades taking place, most significantly in 1972 when a new distillery was built opposite the old buildings. The owners ran both distilleries until 1985 when the original distillery was used as an experimental site. The capacity of the distillery is now around 5.5 million litres per annum.

This single malt whisky was distilled in 2009 at the Linkwood distillery before being placed in a single refill Sherry barrel and left to mature for 10 years. In 2020 it was bottled at 59.2% abv. For this unique bottling, a splendid Linkwood is matched up with a Speyside landscape titled, “On the way to Linkwood” (frame not included) by artist Mr Nichol Wheatley. Only 288 bottles and paintings were produced.
