The Glenrothes Distillery is an award winning Speyside Single Malt Whisky of exceptional quality. A combination of many factors including unusually slow distillation process in tall copper pot stills deliver a characteristic sweet, fruity and elegant spirit. Each expression has its own unique personality, underpinned by the distinctive, hallmark characteristics of the distillery – ripe fruits, citrus, vanilla and an exquisite spicy finish all encased in the creamiest of textures and with a complex and well-poised balance.

Located in the north-east of Scotland in the heart of the world famous whisky producing region of Speyside, Gordon & MacPhail is an independent family owned and managed firm which has been bottling Single Malt Whiskies for over 119 years. From its humble beginnings as a retailer, Gordon and MacPhail has grown to become a diverse and dynamic company with a number of different business interests. Today the company is a retailer, wholesaler, exporter, bottler of Single Malt Scotch Whisky and distiller, owning Benromach Distillery in Forres. Gordon & MacPhail is owned and directed by the third and fourth generation of the Urquhart family and employs over 130 people from its base in Elgin.

This bottling is part of the Gordon and MacPhail’s ‘Discovery’ range. Each expression in this range is aged to highlight a particular flavour profile – Sherry, Smokey or Bourbon. This Glenrothes pays homage to ‘Sherry’ with a 10 year old non-peated whisky from Speyside.

Our Tasting Notes

Nose: Chocolate toffee eclairs, malty notes, dried dark fruits and sherry soaked raisins with a waft of baking spices.

Palate: Summer berries, rye bread, orchard fruits and cinnamon.

Finish: Christmas cake, Terrys’ chocolate orange and sherry soaked raisins.
