The Glengoyne Distillery is certainly one of Scotland’s hidden secrets when it comes to great single malt. Situated only a short drive away from Glasgow in Dumgoyne, it has an excellent visitors centre. The unique identity this distillery has is that the whisky is produced in the ‘Highland’ region of Scotland and the whisky is matured in the ‘Lowland’ region of Scotland. The road out the front of the distillery is known as the ‘Highland Line’ the division between the Highlands and Lowlands of Scotland. Established in 1833 as the ‘Burnfoot’ distillery it boasts a great range of aged single malt. Glengoyne Distillery translates to ‘Glen of the Wild Geese’. It has also been made famous by its place in the movie Angles’ Share

This whisky was introduced to the core range in 2014. Using unpeated barley and maturing the spirit for a quarter of a century in quality Sherry casks. It is bottled at 48% ABV and unchillfiltered. Simply superb.

Our Tasting Notes

Nose: Beautifully balance aromas of oak and sherry, all the Christmas cake fruits and spices that we love in a sherry cask whisky.

Palate: Seville orange marmalade , dark chocolate, creamy vanilla, fruit cake, figs and plums with subtle spice.

Finish: Long and very pleasing, red fruits, freshly cracked black pepper. A dram savour.
