GlenDronach distillery was founded in 1826 and is situated near Forgue, by Huntly, in Aberdeenshire, Scotland. It has had many owners through its long history but non as significant as when The BenRiach Distillery Company Ltd owned the distillery between 2008 and 2016. The owners made significant changes as to how the brand was positioned and marketed as well as changed the core range and undoubtedly placed this distillery on the map of sought after whisky. A significant amount of GlenDronach is now purchased for collection and investment. It has over the past decade slowly become the new Macallan of the Scottish whisky industry. Renowned for its signature style of whisky, matured in the finest Pedro Ximènez and Oloroso Sherry casks.

This single malt whisky has been released as an alternative to the very popular GlenDronach peated Port Wood which graced the shores of Australia not long ago. This non peated version has been initially matured in Pedro Ximénez and Oloroso sherry casks then it has been given a finish in ex Port casks from Portugal to add some further depth of flavour and sweetness. Bottled at 46% ABV with natural colour.

Our Tasting Notes

Nose: Wild berries and ripe dark plums, cherry blossom and fragrant oak.

Palate: Strawberries, blackberries and dark cherries at first, chocolate covered granola bars, orange marmalade and apple pie.

Finish: Dried orange peel, dried dark fruits and freshly baked Cantucci.
