Description

Edradour 15 Years Old Fairy Flag Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky (700ml)

Volume: 700ml           ABV: 46%           Age: 15 Years Old           Country: Scotland         Chill-Filtered?: Non chill-filtered

Edradour Fairy Flag aged 15 years is initially matured in American oak ex-Bourbon casks for 8 years, then this whisky is matured for a further 7 years in fresh European oak ex-Oloroso Sherry casks.

A special Single Malt named after the Scottish feature film, “The Fairy Flag” which recounts the epic romance between the Clan Chief of the Macleod’s and the mysterious Fairy maiden, Titania. This feature film by Rory Mhor Nicoll and Peter Columbia brings the legend to life.

This whisky is bottled at 46% abv and has retained its natural dark mahogany colour, which looks incredible in the glass. It is non chill-filtered and again may change its appearance should ice be added. The spirit could be some legacy spirit of the previous owners Pernod Ricard who sold the distillery in 2002, however we should be seeing the new owners spirit creep in now.

Our Tasting Notes

Nose: Dried fruits of raisins and plums, fresh vanilla pods, freshly cut oranges, dark chocolate and an earthy character.

Palate: Delicious rich Christmas cake with caramel and chocolate. Blueberries and raisins , toasted walnuts. A little citrus with tobacco and orange peel. Typical mouth feel coming from the old copper farm stills.

Finish: Sweet and spicy, lingering and warming.
