The launch of the Diageo 2019 Special Release whiskies was to take place last month and most of us missed out. We are excited to announce that we have 22 Diageo 2019  Special Release Dram Packs to offer with an online MasterClass.

The Master Class will take place on Zoom on May 7th 2020 at 8pm where the Australian Brand Ambassador will take you through these 6 incredible whiskies, live and from the comfort of your own home! Details will be emailed to you for log in and how to take part two days after your purchase.

This pack will support a fund to help bars in Melbourne when the lockdown restrictions are lifted. This could be through free tastings, bottle donations or advertising.

Whisky 1

Cardhu Aged 14 Years 2019 Special Release Single Malt Scotch Whisky (30ml) 55% abv

Released as part of Diageo’s Special Releases 2019 this release from Cardhu Distillery is appropriately packaged. A fragrant floral single malt double matured in ex-Amontillado sherry hogsheads for 14 years. Bottled at 55% abv and only 4,860 bottles were produced for worldwide consumption.

Whisky 2

The Singelton of Glen Ord Aged 18 Years 2019 Special Release Single Malt Scotch Whisky (30ml) 55% abv

This is another great whisky by this distillery, matured in fresh charred American oak ex-Bourbon Hogsheads. This whisky has plenty of fruity flavours along with spice. The label on this bottling features a fish or rainbow trout looking at a blackberry bush which ties this bottling into the theme for the series release of ‘Rare By Nature’.

Mortlach Aged 26 Years 2019 Special Release Single Malt Scotch Whisky (30ml) 53.3% abv

Has to be in our top ten whiskies of the year so far and it could play in our top 20 whiskies of all time. The stand out single malt from all the Diageo 2019 special release series.

Drawn from fresh-toasted first-fill Pedro Ximenez & Oloroso Sherry seasoned casks.

Cragganmore Aged 12 Years 2019 Special Release Single Malt Scotch Whisky (30ml) 58.4% abv

Released as part of Diageo’s Special Release 2019 series this tasty smoky number was matured in refill American oak ex Bourbon casks for 12 years before being bottled at cask strength.

Whisky 5

Lagavulin Aged 12 Years 2019 Special Release Single Malt Scotch Whisky (30ml) 56.5% abv

The yearly Lagavulin special release is always sought after and more often than not this release is the pick of the whiskies for the year. This year is no exception, classic Islay laga smoke combined with delicious fruits, sea salt and cured meats. A combination made in heaven.

The theme of this years Diageo Special Releases is ‘Rare By Nature’, how fitting this bottling is to the release name..

Talisker Aged 15 Years 2019 Special Release Single Malt Scotch Whisky (30ml) 57.3% abv

This very tasty Talisker has ben matured in freshly charred American oak Hogshead barrels for 15 years. With coastal notes and a theme of ‘Rare By Nature’ this is truly a great find and well worth a dram or two.
