Benromach 10 Years Old Speyside Single Malt Scotch Whisky
Volume: 700ml ABV: 43% Age: 10 Years Old Country: Scotland
Maturation is 80% Bourbon barrels, 20% Sherry hogshead. The final year the whisky is matured in first fill Oloroso Sherry casks.
This single malt whisky from Benromach in Speyside is scooping all the awards and recently was voted Ralphy’s Single Malt Whisky of the Year 2015. There is no looking past this single malt, it looks good, it sits at a great price point and it is delicious. You’ll be raving about it for weeks just like Ralphy.
Official Tasting Notes
Nose: Rich Sherry influence with fruit & nut chocolate and delicate spice – cinnamon. Fresh green apples, with a malty, digestive biscuit note and light peat smoke in the background. If you add a little water then charred oak influence and malt. Slightly nutty with exotic fruits – pineapple and kiwi.
Taste: Delicious forest fruits – raspberries and brambles, Sherry, malt creaminess with a stronger peat influence. If you add a little water mouth coating with toasted malt. Lingering sweet Sherry and delicate peat smoke.

Official Tasting Notes
Nose: Without water very sweet and malty initially, with vanilla, toffee and banana influences, with water fresh and malty, with hints of coffee and cocoa. Vanilla notes with a touch of citrus fruits and lemons.
Taste: Without water peppery and creamy with defined sweet fruit flavours, ripe bananas, with water chili spice, with tropical fruit flavours. Creamy with a dark chocolate edge.
Benromach Peat Smoke Speyside Single Malt Scotch Whisky

‘Pour yourself a dram of this seriously smoky single malt whisky… BenRomach only produce very small batches of this unique Benromach Speyside whisky, so you’re one of the few people who are able to enjoy it. The finest Scottish barley is malted with high levels of peat smoke at 67ppm (parts per million: the phenol level, to those in the know).’

Nose: Sweet vanilla, honey and cured meat aromas, hints of apricot and lemon combining with a beautiful subtle tobacco note
Taste: There’s cracked pepper with sweet strawberry and orange flavours, a delicate hint of aniseed… combined with a lingering edge of bonfire embers
Tasting notes with water………..
Nose: The delicate smokiness complements lemon, honey and vanilla aromas with sweet hints of apricot and sugared almonds developing on the tongue.
Taste: Slow cooked apple, pear and tangy grapefruit give way to a trace of cocoa powder and an absolutely gorgeous edge of lingering cigars. It’s a wonderfully fruity and smoky single malt whisky.
