The Benrinnes Distillery first produced spirit back in 1826 and was known originally between 1974 and 2007 for producing a partially triple distilled spirit. The distillery itself has been through a tough time, fires and floods have meant it has been rebuilt a number of times and been through a few owners. The distillery is now owned by Diageo and it is used for their well known blends. It was first well known though for producing spirit for use in Crawford’s blended whiskies and was known for its 15 year old vintage.

Liquid Treasures Single Malt Whisky is an independent bottling range of eSpirits Whisky in Germany. The company was founded over 10 yers ago and has already released a quite impressive selection of interesting and delicious whiskies. The autumn 2021 collection includes 8 single malt whiskies from all over Scotland, aptly titled the ‘Living World’ due to the stunning flora and fauna artwork on the bottles.

This single malt whisky was created at the Benrinnes Distillery and was distilled in 2010 and laid to mature in an ex Oloroso Sherry Cask for 11 years before being bottle in 2021 at natural cask strength of 52.8% abv. Only very few bottles were made available.

Tasting Notes

Nose: Grape hubba bubba, prune juice and Chinese plum sauce.

Palate:Not a hint of sulphur, jammy fruits carry on through the whole experience.
