Barrel Craft Spirits are based in Louisville, Kentucky and are an independent bottler and blender of unique aged, cask strength sourced whiskey and rum. Their goal is to select and blend products that explore different distillation methods, barrels and ageing environments, and bottle them at cask strength. Every batch is produced as a limited release and has an intentionally distinct flavour profile.

This Rye Batch #3 was distilled and aged in Indiana, Tennessee, Poland and Canada. It was matured in previously used cask that were 4 to 14 years old. Carafted and bottled in Kentucky and bottled at 116.7 proof cask strength or 58.35% abv.

First they used Tennessee Rye barrels and then added Polish Rye. The layers come from 13 years old Canadian Rye then the Indiana Rye was added. This creates a rye with sweet caramel and dried fruits, some nuttiness, earthy notes and spice.

Our Tasting Notes

Nose: Honey and wheat cereals, earthy spice, toasted almonds and caramelised brown sugar, gooseberries and marmalade with a buttery notes.

Palate: Peanut butter ice cream, caramelised fruits, tropical fruits of coconut and mango, ginger spice and balanced oak.

Finish: Leathery with old cigars and more tropical fruits, some salted buttery to linger around the palate.

Awards

Awarded Best Bourbon twice at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition (SFWSC), once in 2017 and again in 2020. Other SFWSC awards include Best Small Batch Bourbon, Best Small Batch Bourbon over 11 years, Best Small Batch Bourbon 6-10 years and Best Overproof Rum, as well as nine Double Gold medals and seven Gold medals.
